July 8, 2025 – David Sprinkle was on Fox 35 this morning discussing companies using AI in the vetting/interview process.
Takeaways:
- Companies are increasingly using many AI tools to help them vet applicants during the hiring process.
- AI tools can be used to do social media research to find inaccurate information and posts that do not align with companies values.
- Best practices are to remove pictures and posts that could reflect unfavorably to a future employer, or at a minimum, make your social accounts private.
- Make sure your Linkedin profile matches your resume and if you have any political posts on Linkedin, delete them and save the politics for your non-business socials (Facebook, X, Insta, etc) that you can keep private.
- Other things to keep in mind that was not covered in this segment: if you are looking for a job, you will probably interact with an AI Agent of some sort, either via email, chat, or even in voice communication. If the thought of this annoys/concerns/scares you, the interview process is not the time to voice those concerns. Have a strategy on how to do your best during these screenings and never forget that there is a human behind the AI that you are trying to get to.
