As a new company in the Central Florida region, the team at Veritas wanted to start getting involved in the community. As a group we thought, “What’s a great way to get involved, have some fun and get healthy?” Little did we know we wouldn’t have to look far. One of our neighbors in our own office building hosts and coordinates Seminole County’s only Corporate 5k charity event. So this past Thursday, March 29th, we decided to get involved and participated in the Rescue Run Corporate 5k held in our own backyard in Lake Mary.
With not much to expect but running 3.1 miles, we showed up to Oval Park as a team ready to run. What we saw was a lot more than just a race. Togetherness and pride was everywhere as companies from all over Seminole County came together to raise money for the Rescue Outreach Mission, the only homeless shelter in Seminole County. The night was topped off with good music, food, and friendly fitness challenges that all our friends and family loved.
As our company moves forward and grows we look forward to joining these great charity events annually.
